Elkie Rose McCrimmon

Elkie is a Bristol based artist interested in exploring marginalised voices and the view of the outsider. As a Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and BFI Academy Alumni she has gone on to work on an array of projects including Channel 4’s Random Acts, BBC New Creatives and BFI NETWORK shorts.

As a Production Designer she has had work screened at international film festivals and broadcast in BBC4 and Channel 4. She has worked on ‘The Piss Witch’ directed by Jason Barker which is currently nominated for the ‘Best of British’ short category Iris prize, previously been nominated for The McLaren Award for Best Short Film at Edinburgh International Film Festival, has been screened at BFI Flare Festival, Queer Vision and is due to screen at Encounters Short Film Festival.

 

 

 

 



Another project ‘Pickney’ directed by Michael Jenkins won the Fan Favourite New Voices Award at the American Black Film Festival and has been screened at the UNESCO Creative Cities Annual Meeting in Santos Brazil, Africa in Motion, Afrika Eye Festival, Toronto Black Film Festival, Pan African Film and Arts Festival LA, Flatpack Festival, The Shot List, Two Short Nights, Third Horizon, Film and Folklore Festival, Carrabiantales International Film Festival and Caribbean International Film Festival.

She has recently moved back to the Southwest after completing a prop modelling traineeship at Pinewood Studios. With this move she hopes to focus on elevating local storytelling within her hometown of Bristol.

 

Her photography has been featured in Rising Arts Whose Future Campaign, Rife Magazine, Mandem, Film Hub South West and is currently on display in the Watershed Cinema Cafe Bar.
